Hi Everyone,

If you live close to the area you probably know about our brush fires in the Bogs to the south and in the Dismal Swamp to the north.  Try and visit during an East or northest wind for the least smoke in the air - hopefully we will get a good rain to put it out soon. It is usually not bad here by the ocean.

Don't forget to register your cell phones on the Do Not Call list - those numbers all went to the telemarketers last week and it is good for 5 years. the site is www.DONOTCALL.gov

Legislation is being worked on to reopen the Hatteras beaches at the Congressional level stay up to date at SaveHatteras.com

Gas here is running about 3.98 or 3.99 everywhere here - a little higher on Hatteras Island.  The ocean temperature is quite warm already and has been very clean and clear.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY

YOUR cell phone numbers went to the telemarketers last week.  To prevent these calls make sure you put yours on the Do not call registry for 5 years of protection at www.DONOTCALL.gov.  You can be charged minutes for the calls besides the obvious annoyance - talk about a driving hazard!

In other news the beach driving has a chance of being reopened on Hatteras Island again - go to www.SAVEHATTERAS.com for the latest news.

As you all know and our news people are finally agreeing with- now is one of the best times to buy in history - I apoligize to all those who need to sell - it is certainly not the best time for that.  There remain signs of rising interest rates but the inventory remains high and the prices are low.
